Study under renowned artist and designer David Carson. Develop and refine an experimental graphic practice. Challenge and change the way you approach graphic design. This course is set on a villa in Tuscany, twenty minutes outside Florence. Participants live on the villa alongside artists from around the world. Participants make, live, and eat together.
This course will transform the way you think about and approach visual communication. This two week workshop encourages exploration with materials and visuals language. Learn techniques and develop intuitive skills in this graphic design experiment. David supports and inspires non conventional methods and practices. Students are encouraged to work with physical material , and any media they are comfortable with, not only on the computer.

David Carson is one of the most famous and acclaimed graphic designers in history. Not only has he excelled and transformed the field of graphic arts; he was at one time the 9th best surfer in the world. David also studied sociology at San Diego State University. His prolific output has inspired generations of designers and artists. His book, “The End of Print”, is the top selling graphic design book of all time. Design and art overlap in all aspects of the visual world. David Carson’s work involves psychology, sociology, and new dimensions of the medium of graphic communication.
