Letter from AIP
Now, more than ever, we need to be aware and connected to our world. Artist Immersion Program offers a different approach to seeing and connecting to the world through learning and making. We look to connect, not separate from the environment around us. We develop sensitivity and listening, not isolation and separation. We build a community of individuals bonded through the process of learning. Traveling to artistic sites, we redefine our world as a place where life and art unite. Each program cultivates a community of artists, makers, and thinkers that celebrate the everyday, and its infinite potential.
AIP was started to design immersive learning experiences that crossed borders and disciplines. We believe in deep learning. We believe that travel allows us to see the world differently. We celebrate the practice of traditional art-making forms, foundational drawing, and painting, along with contemporary art forms, from music to film. We explore traditional ways of making art alongside generating new formats. We travel as an expanding community- our staff, teachers, and participants leave transformed.
We believe that learning evolves from the classroom and studio; into walks, hikes, and conversations over dinner. Critical conversation, new perspective, developed sensitivity and poetics of space and time, permeate the everyday. Connection to nature and history allow for new ways of seeing and growing- for artists, students and professionals of all kinds to maximize creative capacity. At AIP, the experience is holistic. Join us around the world.

“Observe constantly that all things take place by change, and accustom thyself to consider that the nature of the Universe loves nothing so much as to change the things which are, and to make new things like them.”
- Marcus Aurelius

“Nothing can be compared to the new life that the discovery of another country provides for a thoughtful person. Although I am still the same I believe to have changed to the bones."
