Program Dates: October 11 – 18, 2021

Spend 7 days and nights in one of Morocco’s most historic cities! Marrakesh is known to be one of the country’s most captivating destinations, with its cultural artwork, bright designs, and heritage. Marrakesh brings an exciting and captivating blend of culture, design, tradition, everyday life, and artistic nature that has to be experienced first hand to be truly understood!

You’ll delight in the full cultural connection from artisans and local craft, to museums and traditional cityscapes, and classes that range from cooking to ceramics. If you are ready for an adventure, choose one of the additional options of a balloon ride or a day trip to a waterfall.

Extend your stay with an optional visit outside the city to a Berber village with an evening cooking class or 2 day excursion over the Atlas mountains into the desert to see a movie studio and experience life at a desert camp accessible by camel.

Hand craft is the theme of your time in Morocco while you delve into the variety of culinary and artisans as well as exploring the unique architecture and style of the place.

Where we stay:

A riad provides a private oasis from the public street with a central garden or water feature. This is the perfect environment for our AIP immersion into the sights and sounds of this delightfully intricate city. You'll be close to the markets and other cultural aspects of life in Marrakesh.

Program Itinerary

DAY 1 - Arrive in Marrakesh and settle into your hotel room. Join fellow travelers for our first evening meal.

DAY 2 - We'll start our first full day immersing in the ancient medina and historical highlights on a full-day tour including lunch. With our trusty guide, we’ll stroll through the tangled lanes and souks; take in the sights, sounds, and aromas of vast Jemaa Al-Fnaa; learn about Moroccan culture at art at the Tiskiwin Museum; and explore the ornate pavilions and gardens of the beautiful Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs.

Evening at your leisure.

DAY 3 - The highlight for today is pottery workshop in one of Morocco’s most colorful living traditions during this hands-on, VIP ceramics workshop. Learn the ins and outs of traditional pottery—from sculpting to glazing—in personalized instruction from a master craftsman.

DAY 4 - Traditional art of calligraphy and painted patterns in the form of henna is our adventure today. Start the morning poolside with a henna experience in a beautiful riad while learning more about its history.


Lunch in the Medina followed by an afternoon break,


In the afternoon we will experience an Arabic calligraphy workshop to rediscover and combine their creativity with their breath, to discover rhythm, to calm down and to tend to the meditative form. The Arabic calligrapher will take you on a journey into a world of artistic expressions where Arabic letters dance to tell the art of writing. 


Evening dinner and socialize

DAY 5 - Start your day casually before we embark on a rare opportunity cooking class on an organic farm with a chef in a four hour experience. Later we will tour the Souk with a private guide in a fully immersive Marrakech Shopping Experience. along the way you will learn about the the Moroccan culture, architecture, artisan and daily life of the locals.

DAY 6 - Choose one of the following options:


Marrakech Classic Hot Air Balloon Flight

High Atlas Mountains and 5 Valleys Day Trip

Stay close to the Riad and explore the markets, museum or gardens.


DAY 7 - On our final day we will relish in the natural phenomenon on our tour to visit Ouzoud Waterfalls. En route you’ll pass through many traditional Moroccan towns and rural villages. When we arrive at the Ouzoud Waterfalls, after about a 3-hour drive, you will have 4 hours to enjoy the cascades and the area’s natural beauty. Be sure to check out the wild monkeys living in the trees and take a swim if you like. Guided walk down along the cascades, relax to the sound of the falls, enjoy a boat ride close to the waterfalls and visit one of the many cafés and restaurants. After a restful and relaxing afternoon, you’ll head back to Marrakech by minibus.


Celebrate new friendships and the experiences we’ve had in our final dinner.


DAY 8 - Departure or extend your stay with the following options managed for you by our travel concierge service:

The Dar Si Said Museum. The former home of the brother of Ba Ahmed, builder of the Bahia Palace, now houses a ragtag collection of crafts and woodwork. 


More engaging is the new Maison de la Photographie which displays exhibits from a collection of 8,000 photographs spanning the period from 1870-1950. The museum’s top terrace is perfect for a post-picture visit drink or light lunch.


The new Douiria Mouassine showcases a restored, petite 17th-century reception apartment detailed with exquisite decorative plaster and wood work.



What is a Riad?

A riad is traditional house in Morocco and is characterized by having an inner courtyard or a garden as the central element of the building. Following the Islamic idea of privacy and inward reflection, a riad doesn’t usually have large windows facing the outside. Instead, rooms in a riad will have windows facing the opened-ceiling inner courtyard/garden.

Travel Arrangements:

AIP will email you when it is time to get your ticket. We will allow much planning in advance, and will this email ninety or more days before your trip. We will send more specific details once you sign up for the trip. You will be met at the airport, and we will all go to the hotel together. 



The average daily temperature during the month of September hovers around 27 degrees Celsius. This includes a potential low of 20 degrees Celsius at night, and a high of up to 33 degrees Celsius. These high temperatures will likely be during the early afternoon but check the latest forecast to double check. An average of ten millimetres of rain falls on the area throughout the month, usually concentrated over two days.
